Eating out in Bondi
Sydney wins the crown for one of my favourite places for food on earth. With no shortage of healthy cafes and restaurants, the country thrives on locally sourced, organic produce.
While I don't necessarily eat out all the time at home, I find there is something about being on holiday that makes you reluctant to cook as much. Along with this I often find I feel a lot better when I opt for healthier choices when I'm spending most of my time lazing on the beach. For this reason, I've shared I've a few of my favourite go-to spots in Bondi.
From acai bowls to fresh coconuts, Preach manages to combine everything you want in a healthy but tasty way. I tried to make my way through most of the menu, but sadly I didn't have enough time (or money).
Banana Pancakes with Raw Cacao Syrup
The Green Goddess Breakfast Bowl
Quinoa cooked in coconut, with toasted almonds, poached eggs, halloumi and fresh lemon.
Acai Bowl with Activated Charcoal
This one is great in the morning if you fancy something light.
Three Chia Bowl
Chia seeds soaked in coconut, with home-made granola and fresh fruit.
In north Bondi lies this cool Israeli - Mediterranean cafe called SHUK.
The menu is influenced by Arabic, Turkish, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines, offering everything from mezze platters to shakshuka. I tried the Green Shakshuka, which came with olives and home-made sourdough bread. Perfect spot to sit with a book and enjoy an iced coffee..
Earth Food Store
Finally, Earth Food Store (located just off Bondi beach) is little spot for breakfast, or if you fancy grabbing lunch on the go. After a few too many mojitos the night before, I attempted to redeem myself with a sugar-free raspberry and coconut muffin and a berry smoothie. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my camera on me, so I’ve popped a picture from their website below.
Hope you enjoy! Meg x
