Casamigos Cocktail Masterclass at Peyotito
To celebrate National Tequila in true Mexican style, Casamigos X Peyotito held the ultimate tequila masterclass, with a tasting of Mezcal, Mixto, three expressions of tequila and a Sangrita flight.
Casamigos's brand ambassador, Jack, talked us through the journey of this ultra-premium tequila and why it is different to others on the market. Interestingly, Casamigos Tequila is founded by George Clooney, Rande Gerber, & Mike Meldman in their request to find the perfect tequila. They tasted over 700 tequilas to get to the blend they've made today. The brand hand-select the finest Blue Weber agaves, grown in the rich red clay soil and cool climate of the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico to make their three blends of Casamigos Tequila. Fascinatingly, their agave piñas are roasted in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours, followed by an 80 hour fermentation process - far longer than most premium tequila brands, which explains their unique, caramelised flavour.
For someone who would never usually sip a spirit neat, I can honestly say they tasted great served with ice. Jack made us a blend of Blanco Casamigo Tequila, tonic water, orange and black pepper - incredible!
Alongside our tequila tasting, we enjoyed Peyotito's tasting menu, which included tuna tostada, taco selection and homemade guacamole. This was followed by churros and melted chocolate sauce.
